Financial IT Project Management Consultant

 

Provide project management consulting services to migrate a project from evaluation and planning to implementation and through organizational adoption and sustainability successfully. Must be able to manage multi-product and/or multi-facility projects using industry standards; adhere to repeatable processes for planning and plan execution and monitoring; report on progress; and manage tasks, costs and resources for the project’s duration.

The project manager must be able to manage projects that span department and functional areas of an organization. Should also have subject matter expertise for several selected McKesson and/or Epic applications.

Consultant can live anywhere but willing to travel 80%, Monday through Thursday.

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing overall management for on-time, on-budget completion of projects that meet organizational and project objectives
  • Providing effective planning to develop initial project plans and objectives that define project scope, project participants and resource requirements
  • Managing and facilitating project teams, tasks and issues
  • Developing appropriate project documents and ensuring appropriate ongoing communication with project stakeholders through the project
  • Implementing change control as necessary, assessing issues and developing resolutions
  • Meeting productivity and business objectives and driving measurable results within designated timeframes
  • Developing and maintaining customer and vendor relationships

Professional Qualifications

  • 3+ years financial project management software implementation experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or 3+ years in a project management role in healthcare IT
  • Experience with McKesson STAR, Horizon and/or Paragon and/or Epic products
  • Knowledge of process improvement; Six Sigma and PMI certification preferred
  • Quality assurance (software testing) experience
  • Implementation of patient accounting, patient management, contract management and scheduled experience preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must; Microsoft Project preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a CPA or equivalent job experience preferred
