Financial IT Project Management Consultant

Provides project management services to migrate a project from evaluation and planning to implementation and through organizational adoption and sustainability successfully. Must be able to manage multi-product and/or multi-facility projects using industry standards; adhere to repeatable processes for planning and plan execution and monitoring; report on progress; and manage tasks, costs and resources for the project’s duration.

The project manager must be able to manage projects that span department and functional areas of an organization. Should also have subject matter expertise for several selected McKesson Provider Technologies including: STAR 2000, STAR Account Express, STAR Patient Accounting and Registration, STAR Receivables Workstation, EC2000 72 Hour Rule Administrator, EC2000 Claims Administrator, STAR Patient Location Tracker, Horizon Enterprise Revenue Management (HERM), Horizon Business Folder, Horizon Business Insight, Horizon Patient Folder, Pathways Denials and Appeals, Pathways Financial Management, Pathways Materials Management, Pathways Healthcare Scheduling or Paragon.

Project Management services may include, but are not limited to, system implementations, upgrades, assessments and optimizations. Should have experience in multiple financial applications.

Job Responsibilities
• Providing overall management for on-time, on-budget completion of projects that meet organizational and project   objectives
• Providing effective planning to develop initial project plans and objectives that define project scope, project participants   and resource requirements
• Managing and facilitating project teams, tasks and issues
• Developing appropriate project documents and ensuring appropriate ongoing communication with project stakeholders
• Implementing change control as necessary, assessing issues and developing resolutions
• Meeting productivity and business objectives and driving measurable results within designated timeframes.
• Developing and maintaining customer and vendor relationships

Location
Consultant can live anywhere. Work will be at the client site primarily. Travel will be 80% to 100%, four days per week (Monday – Thursday).

Professional Qualifications
• 3+ years financial project management software implementation experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or   3+ years in project management role in healthcare IT
• Experience with McKesson STAR, Horizon, or Paragon financial and business products
• Knowledge of process improvement, Six Sigma and PMI certification preferred
• Quality Assurance (software testing) experience
• Implementation of patient accounting, patient management, contract management and scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must and MS Project preferred
• Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or a CPA or equivalent job experience preferred
