Financial IT Consultant

Provides revenue management services for selected McKesson Provider Technologies products. Expertise in required multiple applications, including STAR 2000, STAR Account Express, STAR Patient Accounting and Registration, STAR Receivables Workstation, EC2000 72 Hour Rule Administrator, EC2000 Claims Administrator, STAR Patient Location Tracker, Horizon Enterprise Revenue Management (HzERM), Horizon Business Folder, Horizon Business Insight, Horizon Patient Folder, Pathways Denials and Appeals, Pathways Financial Management, Pathways Materials Management, Pathways Healthcare Scheduling or Paragon.

Consulting services may include, but are not limited to system implementations, upgrades, assessments and optimizations. Applicant should have experience in multiple financial applications.

Job Responsibilities
Our consultants provide a variety of IT solutions including:

• System Implementations

  • Pre-implementation planning including evaluation of current workflow processes and/or current system utilization, forms and reports
  • System design including redesigning workflow processes, forms design, defining system interfaces, conversion requirements and guidance with table builds, parameters and reporting requirements.
  • Vendor relationships and coordination by developing a meaningful, constructive relationship and effective communications with information systems vendor
  • Integrated testing including test management, test script design, testing interfaces, applications, integration and volume testing’
  • Procedure and system documentation and training, go-live support, operational transition and post implementation support

• Optimizations and Upgrades

  • Participating in systems optimizations including redefining system use to improve operational effectiveness and productivity
  • Guiding staff in implementing upgrades and new releases including design, building and initial and regression testing for new functionality and interfaces
  • Training users in new system capabilities and providing go live support and transition
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships.

Location
Consultant can live anywhere. Work will be at the client site primarily. Travel will be 80% to 100%, four days per week (Monday – Thursday).

Professional Qualifications
• 3+ years software implementation experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or 3-5 years in patient accounting   management, hospital business operations (in a hospital or healthcare business office environment)
• Experience with McKesson Horizon Financial products, including exposure to McKesson STAR, Paragon and Pathways   products
• Implementation of Patient Accounting, ADT, Contract Management and Medical Records experience preferred
• Quality Assurance (software testing) experience
• Experience working with end-users in application analysis, design and implementation
• Working knowledge of SQL and Crystal Reports a plus
• Quality Assurance (software testing) experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word a must; Microsoft Project preferred
• Bachelors Degree in Business, a CPA or health administration (or equivalent) job experience.
