Clinical IT Project Management Consultant

Provides project management services that move a project from evaluation and planning to implementation and through organizational adoption and sustainability successfully. Must be able to manage multi-product and/or multi-facility projects using industry standards; adhere to repeatable processes for planning and plan execution and monitoring; report on progress; and manage tasks, costs and resources for the project’s duration.

The project manager must be able to manage projects that span departmental and functional areas of an organization and possess subject matter expertise for several selected McKesson® Provider Technologies products. These include Horizon Clinical Infrastructure, Horizon Laboratory, Horizon Radiology, Horizon Cardiology, Horizon Meds Manager, Horizon Patient Folder, Horizon Surgical Manager, Horizon Physician Portal, Horizon Health Summary, Horizon Expert Document, Horizon Expert Orders, Horizon Expert Notes, Horizon iForms, Horizon Order Management, Horizon Emergency Care and Horizon AdminRx.

Project Management services may include, but are not limited to system implementations, upgrades, assessments and optimizations. Should have experience in multiple clinical applications.

Job Responsibilities
• Providing overall management for on-time, on-budget completion of projects that meet organizational and project   objectives
• Providing effective planning to develop initial project plans and objectives that define project scope, project participants   and resource requirements
• Managing and facilitating project teams, tasks and issues
• Developing appropriate project documents and ensuring appropriate ongoing communication with project stakeholders   through the project
• Implementing change control as necessary, assessing issues and developing resolutions
• Meeting productivity and business objectives and driving measurable results within designated timeframes.
• Developing and maintaining customer and vendor relationships

Location
Consultant can live anywhere. Work will be at the client site primarily. Travel will be 80% to 100%, four days per week (Monday – Thursday).

Professional Qualifications
• 3+ years clinical project management software implementation experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or 3+   years in project management role in healthcare IT
• Experience with McKesson Horizon Clinicals products,
• Knowledge of process improvement; Six Sigma and PMI certification preferred
• Quality assurance (software testing) experience
• Implementation of order management, clinical documentation, medication administration experience preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must; Microsoft Project preferred
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing or equivalent job experience preferred
