Provides consulting services for selected McKesson Provider Technologies solutions, including all Horizon Clinicals® products (Horizon Clinical Infrastructure, Horizon Laboratory, Horizon Radiology, Horizon Cardiology, Horizon Meds Manager, Horizon Patient Folder, Horizon Surgical Manager, Horizon Physician Portal, Horizon Health Summary, Horizon Expert Documentation, Horizon Expert Orders, Horizon Expert Notes, Horizon iForms, Horizon Order Management, Horizon Emergency Care, ED Tracking Board and Horizon AdminRx).
Consulting services may include, but are not limited to system implementations, upgrades, assessments and optimizations. Applicant must have experience in multiple clinical applications.
Job Responsibilities
Our consultants provide a variety of IT solutions including:
• System Implementations
- Pre-implementation planning including evaluation of current workflow processes and/or current system utilization, forms and reports
- System design including redesigning workflow processes, forms design, defining system interfaces, conversion requirements and guidance with table builds, parameters and reporting requirements.
- Vendor relationships and coordination by developing a meaningful, constructive relationship and effective communications with information systems vendor
- Integrated testing including test management, test script design, testing interfaces, applications, integration, volume testing and unit testing.
- Procedure and system documentation and training, go-live support, operational transition and post implementation support
• Optimizations and Upgrades
- Redefining system use to improve operational effectiveness and productivity
- Guiding staff upgrade and new release implementation, including design, building and initial and regression testing for new functionality and interfaces
- Training users in new system capabilities and providing go live support and transition
Location
Consultant can live anywhere. Work will be at the client site primarily. Travel will be 80% to 100%, four days per week (Monday – Thursday).
Professional Qualifications
• 3+ years software implementation experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or 3+ years in clinical analyst role in healthcare IT
• Experience with McKesson Horizon Clinicals products,
• Clinical background a definite plus. Bachelors Degree in Nursing or equivalent job experience preferred
• Experience working with end-users in application analysis, design and implementation
• Working knowledge of SQL, Crystal Reports® or BusinessObjects® a plus
• Quality Assurance (software testing) experience
• Implementation of order management, clinical documentation, medication administration experience preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft® Office, Microsoft® Excel®, Microsoft® Word a must and Microsoft® Project preferred
